# The questions behind the search.

Real history, current uncertainty, and practical questions to sort out before talking about treatment.

Prescription

An order for medicine written by a licensed prescriber.

Is sermorelin a real medicine?

It has a real medical history: sermorelin (Geref, discontinued) was used for an approved hormone test and childhood growth treatment.

As of September 28, 2026, no sermorelin medicine sold in the US has Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval.

So ask what the current offer actually is. The old brand name alone does not settle that.

Was it removed because it was dangerous?

The FDA withdrew the Geref approvals in June 2009 after the maker asked it to do so.

In March 2013, the FDA found that Geref had not left the market because of safety or effectiveness problems.

That finding was about the old product leaving the market; it does not endorse a sermorelin preparation offered now.

Can a video visit be a proper visit?

Telehealth means getting care through a screen, a phone, or an online exchange.

The medical boards’ federation holds remote visits to the care standard that applies when you meet in person.

As of September 26, 2026, the rules for online prescribing differ by state.

Can I get a straight price before I commit?

Request an item-by-item written price for the visit, medicine, tests, shipping, and any repeat fees. Ask which charges still apply if no prescription is written.

As of September 28, 2026, sermorelin has no marketed approved product and therefore no maker or government price to use as a benchmark.

Does it have to be an injection?

Most of the reviewed sermorelin studies gave it by injection.

The research reviewed here does not establish how swallowed, under-the-tongue, or skin-applied sermorelin performs.

A question to take with you

What research supports the exact form you are offering?

This guide helps you question a sermorelin care offer; operating clinics and selling medicines are outside its role.
